In short
- Letter Link does not ask for your name, email, phone number or any account.
- Your coins, levels and settings are saved only on your own device.
- The game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising ID and IP address to show and measure ads.
- Where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent before personalised ads, and you can change your choice at any time.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never see who you are.
Who we are
Letter Link (the “app”) is a word-search game for Android, published by Bugfixers (“we”, “us”), bugfixers.in. This policy explains what information is handled when you play the app, why, and the choices you have. It applies only to the Letter Link app.
Information stored on your device
To remember your game, the app saves the following on your phone or tablet:
- Your coins, current level and puzzles completed in each theme
- Themes you have unlocked and the date you last collected the daily gift
- Your settings for music, sound effects and vibration
This information stays on your device. It is never sent to us, and we have no server that collects it. If you have turned on Android's backup feature, Android may include this game data in your personal device backup with Google, under your own Google account settings.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Letter Link is free to play because it shows ads. The ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland). The app shows a banner ad, an occasional full-screen ad between puzzles, and optional reward videos that you can choose to watch for coins or hints.
Information Google may collect
When ads are requested and shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the app may collect and process:
| Information | Used for |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID of your device | Showing ads, limiting how often you see the same ad, measuring ads, and personalised ads if you allow them |
| IP address and approximate location derived from it (country or city level) | Showing ads that fit your region, and preventing fraud |
| Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language and app version | Delivering ads that work on your device |
| Interactions with ads, such as views and taps | Measuring ad performance and preventing invalid clicks |
| Diagnostic information, such as crash and performance logs of the ads SDK | Keeping the ads service working reliably |
This information is collected and used by Google, not by us. We only receive aggregated reports from AdMob, for example how many ads were shown, which do not identify you. To learn how Google uses this information, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your consent and choices
- Consent form. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another region where the law requires it, the app shows Google's consent form before personalised ads are used. If you do not consent, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
- Change your choice later. Where this applies, a Privacy settings button appears on the app's home screen. Tap it to review or change your consent at any time.
- Advertising ID. In your device settings (usually Settings › Google › Ads, or Settings › Privacy › Ads) you can reset or delete your advertising ID. After deleting it, apps can no longer use it for personalised ads.
- Google ad settings. You can manage how Google personalises ads at My Ad Center.
Ads in the app are limited to content suitable for general audiences with parental guidance (rated “PG” in AdMob).
Permissions the app uses
- Internet and network state – to load and show ads. The game itself works offline.
- Advertising ID (
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) – used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK as described above.
The app does not request access to your location (GPS), contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, SMS or phone calls.
What we do not do
- We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or other contact details through the app.
- We do not use analytics or tracking tools of our own.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- In-app coins are virtual, cannot be bought with money and have no cash value. The app has no in-app purchases.
Children's privacy
Letter Link is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information in connection with the app, please contact us and we will help remove it.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Game data on your device stays until you delete it. To delete it, uninstall the app, or go to Settings › Apps › Letter Link › Storage › Clear storage. This permanently erases your progress.
- Information collected by Google for ads is kept according to Google's own retention policies. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time as explained above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or privacy laws of US states such as California, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing.
Because we do not hold personal information about you on any server, most requests are best handled directly on your device (see “Keeping and deleting your data”) or with Google for advertising data. Where consent is the legal basis for personalised ads, you can withdraw it at any time with the Privacy settings button in the app. You are always welcome to contact us with a question or request, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Your game data is stored in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Communication between the app and Google's advertising services is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we keep the app's data handling to the minimum needed to run the game.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes or when the law requires it. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For significant changes, we will also tell you through the app or its Google Play listing.
