Venom Ascent
Venom Ascent is a single-player game. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of ours. Your progress stays on your phone. The one thing that leaves your device is advertising data, handled by Google AdMob, and this page explains exactly what that is and how to control it.
This policy is published by Bugfixers ("we", "us"), the developer of Venom Ascent (the "Game"). If you have questions, write to bugfixerpatna@gmail.com.
We do not ask for, receive or store any of the following:
The Game has no login, no user profiles, no chat, no leaderboards and no analytics SDK. We could not identify an individual player even if we wanted to.
The Game saves your progress locally using Android's DataStore. This never leaves your phone and we cannot read it. It includes:
If Android Backup is enabled on your device, Google may include this save file in your device backup under your own Google account. You can turn that off in your device settings. Uninstalling the Game deletes this data from the phone.
The Game shows banner ads on the menu and results screens, occasional full-screen ads between games, and optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch. These are served by Google AdMob, part of Google.
To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID (a resettable identifier Android provides) | Ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement |
| IP address | Approximate location (city or region level), fraud prevention |
| Device and app information: model, OS version, language, app version | Ad compatibility and reporting |
| Ad interactions: impressions, clicks, time viewed | Payment to the developer, measurement |
We receive only anonymous, aggregated reports from Google, such as how many ads were shown and total earnings. We never see who you are.
Google's handling of this data is governed by its own policies:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
INTERNET | Loading ads. The Game itself is fully playable offline. |
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Checking whether a connection exists before requesting an ad. |
VIBRATE | Haptic feedback on dice rolls and snake attacks. Can be turned off in Settings. |
AD_ID | Access to the Advertising ID, required by Google Play for apps that show ads. |
That is the complete list. No other permission is declared anywhere in the app.
For players in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our legal bases under the GDPR are:
For players in India, we process this data to provide the Game and its advertising-funded service under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we ask for your consent where that Act requires it.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone other than the service we depend on to run ads:
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to by a valid court order or law enforcement request.
Venom Ascent contains horror themes, and it is not directed at children. It is intended for players aged 13 and over, and is listed on Google Play with that target audience.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information through the Game, contact us at [your-email@bugfixers.in] and we will act on it.
On your device: Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by manufacturer). There you can reset the ID, which breaks any link to past ad activity, or delete it entirely, after which you will only see non-personalised ads.
Open the Game's Settings screen and use the privacy options to reopen the consent form and change your choice.
Both are toggles in the Game's Settings, along with reduced camera shake.
Uninstalling the Game removes all locally saved progress. To clear it without uninstalling: Settings → Apps → Venom Ascent → Storage → Clear data.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Because we hold no data that identifies you, we usually cannot locate or return data on request. The practical way to exercise these rights over advertising data is through your device's Advertising ID controls and through Google My Ad Center. For anything else, write to [your-email@bugfixers.in] and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. If you are in India, you may contact us at the same address to raise a grievance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
We retain nothing, because we store nothing. Progress data lives on your device until you delete it. Advertising data is retained by Google according to its own retention schedules, described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Google processes advertising data on servers located in several countries, including the United States. Those transfers are covered by the safeguards Google puts in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Details are in the Google Privacy Policy.
Ad requests are sent over encrypted connections by the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Your save file is stored in the Game's private app storage, which other apps on your device cannot read. No system is perfectly secure, but there is no account here to break into and nothing of yours on any server of ours.
If we change how the Game handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app update description on Google Play. Continuing to play after an update means you accept the revised policy.
